Gaining access to an elite MBA programme is within the scope of the majority of doctors, but gaining the competitive edge over the thousands of applicants that apply each year requires a significant investment of time and effort. On average our team members have spent between 9-18 months preparing their own Business School applications
MD2MBA aims to dramatically reduce the amount of time needed to prepare your application. This does not reduce the amount of effort required in order to produce a successful Business School application and many aspects of the preparation are entirely dependant on the individual. We do, however, guarantee that with the suitable time on your part and strategic advice on ours we will propel you into a position that gives you the best possible chance of success. Our aim is to reduce the time needed to prepare a successful application from 12-18 months to somewhere nearer 2-3 months.
We understand fully the hesitancy of doctors wary of leaving what is a secure and relatively well-paid career to take time out or opt for a complete change in career direction. You have worked long and hard to reach the point you are at now, but it is just these qualities - determination and innate ability - that make doctors ideally suited to enter the corporate environment with confidence, and these qualities also ensure that those who do make this transition are both successful and well-rewarded. There is often a stigma attached to leaving clinical medicine and entering the business profession, and in many ways this prevents a large number of gifted clinicians from realizing their true and full potential.
It is for this reason that US business schools have actually started to offer combined MD/MBA programs in recognition of the importance of great 'physician leaders' and the significant work ethic and skill set that physicians bring to the business world.
The combination of an MD (or MB BS) and an MBA represents a powerful synergistic combination that opens up a far greater variety of roles for physicians and greatly improves the overall ability of the medical community to manage its healthcare affairs.
